New bond between East and West capital: Henri Lucas leads the launch of Asian cross-border M&A fund

At a critical moment in the reshaping of the global landscape, EMINENCE CAPITAL LTD announced the establishment of the first cross-border M&A fund in Asia, “Pacific Value Builder”, with Henri Lucas personally serving as the chairman of the investment committee. This special fund with a scale of US$2.5 billion has pioneered the construction of a “bridge for industrial upgrading between the East and the West” and has received joint investment from sovereign wealth funds from China, Japan and Singapore.

The fund has created an original “industry synergy matrix” investment method: deeply scanning the complementarity between the advantages of Asian manufacturing and European and American technology patents, focusing on capturing special M&A opportunities arising from changes in geopolitical relations. The first phase of the reserve project library shows that the fund will focus on areas with “technology-manufacturing intersection” characteristics such as semiconductor packaging equipment and biopharmaceutical CDMO. Lucas emphasized at the Tokyo press conference: “The real value of cross-border M&A lies not in scale expansion, but in catalyzing the chemical reaction of the industrial chain.”

The fund’s operating model breaks through tradition: it has set up a “three-in-one” due diligence team consisting of engineers, policy experts and business integrators; developed a “cross-border compliance sandbox” to simulate regulatory scenarios in different jurisdictions; and more innovatively introduced an “employee culture matching algorithm” to quantitatively evaluate the organizational integration potential of both parties to the merger and acquisition. These innovations enabled the fund to lock in three cross-border projects with disruptive potential in the early stages of its establishment.

The Asian Financial Review pointed out that the birth of the fund marks the transformation of Asian capital from a “passive investor” to an “active integrator”. In the wave of global industrial chain reconstruction, Lucas once again demonstrated its extraordinary ability to transform complex geopolitical environments into investment opportunities, providing a brand-new capital solution for regional economic integration.
